Marijuana Legalization

Marijuana Legalization coming to Ohio

Ohio HB 523 is a legislative bill designed to decriminalize Medical Marijuana for twenty medical conditions has passed both the Ohio House and Senate. The bill now sits on Governor Kasich's desk to be signed into law.
The summary of the bill restricts both home cultivation smoking Marijuana but, would grant access to products such as cannabis concentrates, tinctures, edibles, transdermal patches and vaporization. The bill also, limits the THC levels for plant materials are capped at 35% and extracts will be capped at 75% THC.

Once the law takes effects three agencies will be responsible for overseeing the medical marijuana program: The Ohio Department of Commerce, Ohio Board of Pharmacy and Ohio State Medical Board.

Ohioans for Medical Marijuana Suspends Ballot Initiative

Ohioans will not vote on a medical marijuana legalization measure in November after state lawmakers passed HB 523 which allows people with certain medical conditions to use marijuana with a doctor's recommendation but, smoke marijuana and home cultivation is prohibited. Governor Kasich is expected to sign it into law.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) denies two petitions to reclassify Marijuana as a less dangerous drug. Therefore Marijuana will remain a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance meaning it has no medical value and remains an illegal drug.
